HELP A YOUNG SOCCER PLAYER ACHIEVE HIS DREAM.
Every year, we accept talented young soccer players through a selective process from across the country. They leave behind their friends and family to move to Victoria to develop as a person and an athlete, and pursue their dream of becoming a professional soccer player. A key part of these players' success is living in a safe, comfortable home with a warm family environment. That's what makes our homestay families so important.
As a host family, you'll welcome a Victoria Highlanders FC player into your home for the duration of the season. You'll provide safety, stability and support, so the player can focus on training and continuing his studies in high school.
You'll share in the journey of a talented young athlete as he grows in confidence and ability over a short period of time. Our players are ideal role models for younger family members. They show what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
If your application is successful, we'll match you with one of our young players. At a minimum, all host families should be able to:
- Provide a warm, family home near our training facilities at City Centre Park (Langford).
- Offer a safe and comfortable living space, including a private room with a bed.
- Provide three nutritious meals for your player every day, seven days a week.
- Host a player from September to the end of March the following year.
Apply today. If you're interested in becoming a host family for the upcoming season, please download and fill out the Homestay Family Application Form (click to download) and submit it by uploading below, or by emailing it to tniendorf@shaw.ca.
