VICTORIA, BC – Highlanders FC (2W-OD-5L) kick-off their first of three Premier Development League (PDL) matches in four days, beginning tonight against Lane United FC (2W-4D-4L), who they will also face Saturday before wrapping up the trip Sunday against Portland Timbers U-23 (5W-4D-1L).

Lane conceded a pair of losses to Portland Timbers U-23 in their most recent outings and currently sit in fourth-place in the Northwest Division table. Jordan Jones and teammate Nick Moon have carried the team on offence, tallying five and four goals, respectively, through the 2017 PDL campaign. Between the woodwork, Joaquin Miralles has made 36 saves and allowed 12 goals in eight appearances, while Ben Willis has seen action in three matches, making six saves while allowing six goals against.

The Highlanders are coming off a pair of fixtures versus expansion side TSS FC Rovers. Both teams walked away with three points at weekend’s end following a Highlanders victory on Friday followed by a Rovers win on Sunday evening. Goalkeeper Simon Norgrove earned his first clean sheet victory of the season in Friday’s contest, while teammate Sho Goto registered  goals in both matches. Goto now has goals in three straight heading into Thursday’s tilt. Victoria will be looking for a repeat performance from their Season Opener versus Lane United, where a potent attack resulted in a decisive 4-1 win back in May.

Thursday’s match against Lane United is set to get underway at 7:30pm PST, with Saturday’s rematch set for 12:30pm PST. Sunday’s match against Timbers U-23 will also kick-off at 12:30pm PST. Click HERE to watch tonight’s match!
