VICTORIA, BC – Victoria Highlanders FC announced Friday, the signing of three players for the 2017 Premier Development League (PDL) season. Canadians Francesco Bartolillo, Justin Donaldson and Aidan Moore will be in the Highlanders lineup when the season kicks off, May 14 at Centennial Stadium.


Bartolillo grew up in Calgary and featured on the Alberta Provincial team and was a member of the National Training Centre (NTC) program. Bartolillo has been a member of the University of Northern British Columbia for the past three varsity seasons. He was named UNBC’s Male Athlete of the Year for the 2015-16 season and is a two-time Academic All-Canadian. Bartolillo joins the Highlanders after competing for FC Tuscon in 2016.

Donaldson will be familiar to Victoria soccer fans, having played for the University of Victoria Vikes in 2012 and 2014. The 23-year-old hails from Kamloops and currently plays with Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Wolfpack. This past season, the striker netted eight goals and added 2 assists during the varsity campaign.

Born in Surrey B.C., midfielder Moore grew up in nearby Langley, competing in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League (VMSL) for Estrella de Chile FC. The 19-year-old is currently at the tail end of his sophomore season with Trinity Western University. Last summer, Moore featured on Vancouver United FC of the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL).

“We are very excited to welcome this trio of Canadians to our roster for the upcoming season,” Highlanders FC head coach Dave Dew said. “All three are talented in their own right and will add to what is becoming a very formidable squad for us.”

Victoria Highlanders FC is a Canadian soccer team based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The team was founded in 2007, competing in the USL Premier Development League through the 2014 season. After a season in the PCSL, the Highlanders returned to the PDL in 2016.
